Norman D. Hurd        

PORT ALLEGANY- Norman D. Hurd, 64, of E. Vine St., passed away Sunday (Feb. 11, 2024) in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. PA.

     Born July 7, 1959, in Coudersport, he was a son of Murrel and Shirley M. Sharp Hurd.  On Nov. 18, 1978, in Emporium, he married Faith A. Halladay, who survives. 

    Norman was a lifetime resident of the area and was employed with L.H. Lincoln & Sons, Coudersport, before having to retire.

     He enjoyed the outdoors with hunting, fishing, and gardening.

     Surviving in addition to his wife, Faith, are three stepsons, Douglas D. Hanson of and Daniel A. (Erica) Hanson both of Port Allegany, and David J. (Tracey) Hanson of Emporium; 8 step-grandchildren, 13 step-great-gtand-children; three brothers, Duncan E. Hurd of Coudersport, John P. (Linda) Hurd of Clara, PA, David (Carol Daugherty) Hurd of Port Allegany; two sisters, twin sister, Norma Jean (Don) Switzgable, and Tonya L. Scherback both of Coudersport; and several nieces and nephews.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Dale L. Hurd, and a sister, Gale Hurd. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.                Condolences can be made to:  Faith A.
