Marlene J. Weaver

SMETHPORT- Marlene J. Weaver, 86, of N. Mechanic St., passed away Sunday (Oct. 31, 2021) in her home.

     Born November 16, 1934, in Berwick, PA, she was a daughter of Karl M. and Edna A. Lamoreaux Albertson, and stepfather, William A. Tobias. On Mar. 24, 1972, in Smethport, she married Richard L. Weaver, who survives.  They were married 49 years.

     Marlene worked as a secretary with North Penn Gas Co. for 1 ½ years, and then with Pittsburgh Corning Co. for 41 ½ years, before her retirement. 

     She attended the United Methodist Church, Smethport, was a member of the American Assoc. of Retired Persons, American Legion Auxiliary, Bucktail Post 138, Smethport, Women of the Moose, Chapter 2188, Port Allegany, Women’s International Bowling Congress, Smethport, and life member of National 600 Bowling Club, Inc.

      Surviving in addition to her husband, Richard are two sons, Kim  (Christeena) McNeil of Eldred, Tim (Dawn) McNeil of Port Allegany, a stepson, Todd Weaver of Smethport; a stepdaughter, Dianne (Fred) Eaton of Smethport; five grandchildren: Joshua McNeil, Suzanne (Anthony) Shall, Mark (Bethany) McNeil, Denise (Jamie) Evens, and Corey (Melinda) Raymo; seven step-grandchildren: Jeffrey (Molly) MCMahon, Kellie (Nicholas) Ricci, Bridget (Terry) Fowler, Brett Sircy, David Eaton, Kyley and Garrett Weaver; 11 great-grandchildren; Alex (Kylei) and Carter Shall, Alexis, Cole and Kyle McNeil, Allison, Jade, Drew, and Brynn Evens, Maicey and Cayde Raymo; five step-great-grandchildren; Haille, Layla and Norma Fowler, Madigan McMahon, Isabelle (Izzy) Ricci; and a great-great granddaughter, Sawyer Shall; two brothers, William (Debbie) Tobias of Columbus, OH, Phillip (Brenda) Tobias of Lafayette, CO; two sisters, Vicki Tobias Huff of New Port Richey, FL, and Vonda Tobias Stoffa of Surprise, AZ; a sister-in-law, Patricia (Jerald) McDaniel of Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, brother, David Albertson, sister-in-law, Lois Albertson, brother-in-law, Robert D. Weaver and sister-in-law, Donna M. Weaver. 

     A private funeral service will be held at the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany at the convenience of the family, with Rev. William Tobias and Rev. Max Simms, co-officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lewis Run, PA.
