Leroy J. Culver

Leroy J. Culver  PORT ALLEGANY- Leroy J. Culver, 82, of Katherine St., passed away Sunday (Aug. 21, 2022) in UPMC Cole, Coudersport. Born July 4, 1940, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Robert W. and Iva Mae Abbott Culver. On Apr. 23, 1994, in Coudersport, he married Felicia H. Rossette, who survives.

    Leroy was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1958. He was employed with Saint-Gobain Container Co. of Port Allegany, working as the engine room manager, and later with the shipping department., He retired in 1995, after 32 years of service.

    Leroy was a past treasurer of Camp JJ, past president of the Port Allegany Senior Center, and former member of the Holiday Ramblers. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed working in his yard.

    Surviving in addition to his wife, Felicia, are three sons, Robert (Karen) Culver of Martinsville, IN, David (Beverly) Culver and James (Sharon) Culver both of Port Allegany; two daughters, Jackie Culver of Port Allegany, and Lisa (James) Rotello of Franklinton, NC; six grandchildren: Meagan (Chad) Saltsman, Rebecca (Nick) Brandenburg, Pamela (Jason) Crants, William D. Postlewait, Breanna (Trevor) Beck, and Destiny Culver; 3 great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Ralph and Jack Culver.

    Friends will be received from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 24, 2022) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Michael Culver, officiating. Burial will be in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Port Allegany. Memorials can be made to the Port Area Ambulance Service or Camp JJ.
