PORT ALLEGANY- Cindy I. Winston, 63, of S. Main St., went to be with her Lord, Thursday (Jun. 30, 2022) in the Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, NY.

     Born January 15, 1959, she was a daughter of Gordon A. and Neva R. Griswold Winston. 

     Cindy was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1977. She attended Olean Business School, and graduated from BOCES of Olean as an LP Nurse. She worked at Eden Heights Nursing Home, before having to retire.

    She was a member of the Port Allegany Alliance Church where she was a deaconess, church usher, and part of the Women’s Ministry. She was an avid reader who enjoyed many different genres. She loved her cat and was her sister’s care giver. She was a compassionate and loving person. 

     Surviving is a sister, Barbara M. (Gary) Caulkins of Port Allegany; two nephews: Cole (Trey) Caulkins of Alaska, Wesley C. Caulkins of Illinois; a niece, Paula Boothe Brown of Alabama; several cousins including, Valorie Worall of Turtle Creek, PA and Karen Daniels of Roulette.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Dr. Grant Winston.

     A memorial service will be held for both Cindy Winston and brother, Dr. Grant Winston on Saturday (July 16, 2022) at 11 a.m. in the Port Allegany Alliance Church, with Rev. Stephen Kroh, pastor, officiating.

     Memorials can be made to the Port Allegany Alliance Church or the S.W. Smith Library.

     Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
