Carolann M. Drum

SMETHPORT- Carolann M. Drum, 79, of West Willow St., passed away Wednesday (Jan. 26, 2022) in her home.

     Born September 22, 1942, in Youngstown, OH, she was a daughter of Martin J. and Grace Reno Machingo.  On June 26, 1965, in Youngstown, OH, she married Gary K, Drum, who died Jun. 26, 2009. 

     Carolann was a graduate of Youngstown High School, class of 1960.  She attended Youngstown State University for 3 years. 

     She was co-own of the former Gary K. Drum Funeral Home, Smethport, before retiring. 

    Carolann was a member of the St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church of Smethport, member of the Smethport Area Women’s Club, and enjoyed playing golf at the Smethport Country Club.

     Surviving are two sons, Gary K. Drum, Jr. and Christopher B. Drum both of Smethport; a granddaughter, Amber A. Drum and a great-grandson, Edan G. Henderson both of Yatesboro, PA.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary, and a brother, Martin J. Machingo. 

     At Carolann’s request, there will be no visitation.  Friends will be received in the St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Smethport, at 11 a.m. Saturday, (Jan. 29, 2022) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Vince Cieslewicz, as celebrant. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Smethport. 

      Memorials can be made to the McKean County SPCA, 80 Glenwood Ave., Bradford, PA 16701.

     Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
