Born in 1928 to Konstantinos and  Agnes Stathis  in Siatista, Greece, she immigrated to the United States in 1954 with her husband, Demetrios (James) Bitchakas, who preceded her in death.
Nora and her late husband owned the Hotel Butler in Port Allegany, PA. She was deeply involved in the community and well known regionally for her home-made famous Texas Hot sauce. She lived there until 2007, then moved to Clearwater, FL.
