Dorothy E. Smith
ROULETTE- Dorothy E. Smith, 90, formerly  of  Third St.,  passed away Thursday (June 14, 2018) in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.
     Born April 22, 1928, in Roulette, she was a daughter of Robert A. and Laura A. Young Tauscher.  On July 12, 1952, in Roulette, she married Leslie K. Smith, who died Nov. 9, 1993.      
       Dorothy was a cook having worked in the Roulette and Port Allegany elementary schools for 25 years, before her retirement.
       Mrs. Smith was a lifetime resident of the area and a member of the Riverside Methodist Church of Roulette, member of Order of Eastern Star, Keystone Chapter 2, Duke Center, and Roulette Alumni. She was a Roulette historian and volunteered with the Potter County Historical Society of Coudersport. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
     Surviving are two sons, Calvin K, (Ann) Smith of Coudersport, Russell C. (Sandra) Weimer of Allen, TX; a daughter, Rena M. (Michael) Baker of Roulette; three grandchildren, Christopher Weimer and Tricia (Kevin) Shafer both of Allen, TX, Kimberly Chapman of Virginia Beach, VA, two step-grandchildren, Allan and Andrew Chapell; six great-grandchildren; longtime companion Max Greeley, Sr. of Roulette; and several nieces and nephew.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leslie, a daughter, Ruth Weimer, two brothers, Norman and Robert Tauscher, and a sister, Rosalyn Rush.
      Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday (June 20, 2018) in the Riverside Methodist Church, Roulette, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ben Zimmerman and Rev. Randall Headley, co-officiating. Burial will be in Card Creek Cemetery, Roulette.
      Memorials can be made to Riverside Methodist Church or Potter County Historical Society, 308 N. Main St., Coudersport, PA 16915.
      Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
