James E. Price
KEATING SUMMIT- James E. Price 88, of SR 607, Austin, passed away peacefully Wednesday (Sept. 3, 2014) at his home.
    Born January 30, 1926, in Blandville, WV, he was a son of Royd and Elsie Jones Price.  On Dec. 31, 1949, in Emporium, PA, he married Ella Mae “June” Butler, who survives.
     James was a longtime resident of the area and had worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 17 years, and most recent with the US Postal Service, for 30 years, before his retirement.
     Mr. Price was a veteran of WWII, having served with the US Navy, submarine service, torpedoman’s mate 3rd class.
     He was a member of the Keating Summit Methodist Church, where he was a lay speaker, member of Liberty Lodge 505, F. & A.M., Port Allegany, and past school board president-Austin Area High School.  
     Surviving in addition to his wife, Ella Mae “June” are two sons, Donald D. (Juk Kyoung) Price Export, PA, Gary R. (Tina) Price of  Albany, OR, four daughters, Carol L. Price of Murfresboro, TN, Yvonne M. Baird of Keating Summit, PA, Vicki L. Griswold of Emporium, PA, and Wendy S. Hulick of Keating Summit, PA; 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.  
      He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, James E. Price, Jr., a brother, Robert Price, and two sisters, Louise Thompson and Virginia Cotta.
      Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 6, 2014) with Rev. Steven Small, pastor of the Keating Summit Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
      A masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, by Liberty Lodge 505.
     A military service will be conducted by the Port Allegany Honor Guard immediately following the funeral service, at the funeral home.
     Memorials can be made to: Keating Summit Methodist Church, Austin Ambulance or Potter County VNA Hospice.
