Paul C. Brown
   PORT ALLEGANY-Paul C. Brown, 71, of Lillibridge Creek Rd., passed away unexpectedly Monday (Apr. 2, 2012) in the Charles Cole Mem. Hospital, Coudersport.
    Born July 11, 1940, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Arthur G. and Bernice L. West Brown.  On Jun. 6, 1960, in Port Allegany, he married Maribeth Lloyd.  On Jan. 26, 1985, in Coudersport, he married Maxine Smith, who died Jun. 2, 1999.
     Mr. Brown was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Port Allegany High School, Class of “59”, where he excelled in football.
    He was employed with Pierce Glass Co. and Jerry Bozzo Farm for several years, and later worked 28 years with the Port Allegany Borough, retiring 2002.
     He was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church of Port Allegany, a charter member of the Port Allegany Lions Club, and a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 460, Port Allegany. He also enjoyed hunting, and sports, especially his NASCAR.
    Surviving are his mother Bernice Brown of Port Allegany; a son, Timothy P. (Melinda) Brown of Port Allegany; a daughter, Penny S. (Jeffrey) Miller of Hinsdale, NY; 7 grandsons, 5 granddaughters, and 7 great-grand-children; a brother, Earl K. (Kathleen) Brown of Coudersport; a sister, Joyce E. Ryan of Hammondsport, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his father, and wife, Maxine.
    Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday (Apr. 7, 2012) in St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Port Allegany, with Rev. James Campbell, pastor, and Rev. Charles Schmitt as co-celebrants. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
    A scriptural wake service will be held at 6:40 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
    Memorials can be made to St. Gabriel’s Memorial Building Fund,  the Port Allegany Lions Club, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
